July 25 Jeremiah 1:1-3:5 The High Cost of Forsaking God

In v. 2:23, God says, "Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the LORD your God and have no awe of Me." May we never lose the awe of God Almighty, the creator of the heavens and the earth, the ONE Who parted the Red Sea. He is the One Who has the power to throw us into hell for all eternity. May we never forsake the God Who loves us so much that He allowed His own son to die on a cross for our sins, so that He might have a just relationship with us. What could be so enticing to experience the evil and bitterness of such a decision?
